Update 5/7/2014: Go Team Larson-Gamble!
St. Baldrick’s Foundation is a charity dedicated to promoting research for childhood cancers. This Saturday, May 3rd, YMAA Andover will be hosting a head-shaving fundraiser (10:30am-12:30pm) to benefit the charity.
My friends Alex Gamble and his mom have been working hard to organize the event. Both of them (along with Alex’s brother) are shaving their heads to raise awareness and aid for children in need. If you can, please help support the cause!
- Alex’s Participant Page has raised over $200 with a goal of $500
- Yang’s Fitness & Martial Arts (Andover) has raised over $2000!
I know too many people who have been diagnosed or have had a close friend or relative diagnosed with cancer. To help with the event, I put together a handout to help introduce people to the concept of Qigong and how it can help heal and prevent cancer. In the future, I would like to put together a pamphlet with more detailed information.
In the past, the YMAA Retreat Center shot a few videos for breast cancer awareness. The simple exercises can be done in just a few minutes and can benefit you (whether or not you have breasts). We practice these patterns several times a week for martial arts and health.
If you’re in the area, the head-shaving fundraiser at YMAA Andover (Yang’s Fitness Center) will take place on Saturday, May 3rd, from 10:30am-12:30pm, during the Open House (8am-1pm). Click here for details.
